Theses brown quick then the way cheaper dollar store wine glasses I bought .. but nice to give as gift that’s the only reason I gave it 3 stars
Purchased this product for my Aunt and Uncle who really loves wine. They used it immediately after receiving. Great purchase.
I bought these sets to resell at my winery. We absolutely love Vintorio aerators and products. This is a beautiful gift set.
The packaging is substantial and impressive as shown in the photos. The wine opener/key is the "fancier" waiter's key. It's solidly made. I'm more of a wing corkscrew person at home. (I just rip off the top foil, and you don't need to cut the foil)The wine glasses are very long stemmed red wine glasses, not too thin, nice for swirling. The star of the show is the wine aerator. Nice gurgle sound and doesn't significantly slow down the pour. The only "problem" I ran into was in cleaning, I assembled it upside down and when I poured the wine came out of the air holes! Quick fix, but mentioning it as someone else might think it is leaking.I would recommend this as a gift to a person trying to get into wine that isn't likely to spend a lot of cash. They get a quality opener, decent wine glasses and an aerator that will open up the younger less expensive wines.
Elegant crystal wine glasses in a perfect configuration for drinking and natural aeration distinguish this wine lovers dream set. The glasses are long-stemmed with a tapered top that flares outward to the bottom of the glass, a nice way to allow your wine to breathe while slowing oxidation. Allowing young wines to breathe for one hour roughly "equals" adding two years to their age. Older and more precious wines oxidize more quickly, so the shape of the glass does matter. The crystal seems robust but obviously I don't recommend tossing them into the fireplace in a fit of Romantic era enthusiasm. They look quite attractive as the light catches them standing next to a bottle of wine.Using the wine aerator pourer is easy and quite effective. It uses the Bernoulli effect which, (if you've forgotten your high school physics), states that the pressure in a stream of fluid is reduced as the speed of the flow is increased. This applies to air, which is a gaseous "fluid", as well. The aerator allows air to penetrate and aerate the wine more quickly and efficiently as it is poured. Moments after opening and pouring the wine, it no longer has that closed quality prior to aeration in which its flavor potential is concealed. The pourer aerator is quite effective in essentially providing instant aeration, but I did notice some subtle differences in flavor when compared to natural aeration. Nevertheless, drinking wine with dinner does tend to rush things a bit so the aerator is a very handy device to have. The wine opener is very well designed and constructed. Every wine opener I've ever owned has required a period of adaptation, given my dread of shattering the cork and leaving remnants behind in the bottle, as I desperately struggle to undo the damage and prevent cork particles from falling into the wine. The strength of this wine opener is that it is basically "one-and-done". It grips the cork firmly and lifts it out of the bottle with relative ease. Stubbornly resisting corks can require a bit more effort but the work is done by the device and not the wine drinker. It is very effective. This is definitely a dream gift for any lover of wine.
